Cold-pressed (also called cold process) soaps are handcrafted at low temperatures so that the natural goodness of oils, butters, and essential oils stays intact. Unlike many commercial bars that may use harsh detergents, cold-pressed soaps retain natural glycerin, a humectant that helps your skin stay soft and hydrated.
In the cold process method, plant oils (like olive, coconut, and castor) combine with an alkali to form soap through saponification. Because the mixture is not cooked, heat-sensitive nutrients and aroma compounds are better preserved. After pouring into moulds, the soap cures for 4–6 weeks, developing a harder, longer-lasting, milder bar.
If you want less stripping, more nourishment, and you prefer transparent ingredient lists, cold-pressed soaps are a great daily choice.
